North Dade Dolphins Cheer – Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the North Dade Dolphins Cheer Program?

North Dade Cheer gives youth athletes the opportunity to support our Dolphins football teams through sideline cheerleading.
Sideline cheer provides game-day energy and teaches athletes age-appropriate skills such as cheers, jumps, motions, basic stunts, and performance routines. It is a fun, supportive introduction to cheerleading for beginners and returning athletes alike.

2. What will my child learn as a member of North Dade Cheer?

Our program teaches foundational cheer skills including:

  • Cheer techniques

  • Jumps and motion drills

  • Introduction to basic, safety-approved stunting

  • Sideline dance routines

  • Confidence, teamwork, and Dolphins spirit

Every cheerleader will have opportunities to grow, perform, and showcase their skills throughout the season.

3. What is expected of cheer program participants?

No previous cheer experience is required.
We do expect athletes to:

  • Commit to the season August through November

  • Attend practices twice per week

  • Cheer at 6–8 home games, including homecoming and playoff games

  • Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to participate

There is no long-distance travel required for cheer.

North Dade Cheerleaders typically cheer at 6–8 games each season.
Cheerleaders will provide sideline cheer for:

  • Home games

  • Homecoming

  • Select playoff games

  • Occasional special events

We aim for cheerleaders to support one game for each of our youth football divisions throughout the season when possible.

Practices will take place at North Dade practice fields or designated cheer locations (address to be provided before the season begins).

Practice Schedule:

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays

Optional Wednesday practices may be offered when additional support is needed for routines or game preparation.
